Super Late Model Rules
1) WEIGHT
C 2300
2) Standard dirt late model bodies. OEM style nose piece. No wedge noses.
103" minimum wheel base (either side)
No side boards. Minimum drivers side window opening 12". Spoiler 8" tall (Deck to top of spoiler)
Minimum 1" gap between C-Pillar and Spoiler side
Max deck height 38".
Make them look like Late Models and don’t push your luck!!!
3) ENGINE Engine set back max 8" from #1 spark plug to center of left ball joint. 1 Carburetor – Naturally aspirated.
All engines are limited to one spark plug and two valves per cylinder.
All cars must be self-starting. Cars unable to start the race under their own power may lose their starting position for that event (i.e. heat, ‘B’ main, Main).
4) WHEELS AND TIRES MAX 14" wide wheels Hoosier D 55 spec, WRS, WRS-2 or Wissota 55. Grooving, siping and grinding ok.
Absolutely no chemicals to be used on inside or outside of tires. If you need lubricant to your seat your tires on the bead, use soap and water. If any chemicals are detected by smell or visually, the tire will be confiscated and your purse money will be withheld. A sample of the the tire will then be
sent off to a laboratory to be analyzed. If the sample is found to be chemically altered, you will be fined in the amount equal to the amount you have earned in prize money on the West Coast Shootout Late Model series/ or Santa Maria Speedway weekly series for the entire 2012 season. You will also be suspended for the remainder of that racing year.
5) TRANSMISSION Must have forward and reverse gears.
6) SAFETY
Mufflers required 95 db's @ 100 ft. If a car loses a muffler they will be blacked flagged for that race. (Heat race, B-Main, A-Main etc.) Approved fuel cell w/ safety valve. No bottom feed fittings (fuel fitting under fuel cell). Driveline strap or enclosure is required. Steel Drive shafts are not recommended All drive shafts must be painted white or silver NO elec. fuel pumps. Window net or arm restraints required. All lead must be painted white w/car #. ALL lead must be double bolted with ½ bolts. Any car losing a piece of lead ANYTIME thru out the night will be DISQUALIFIED FOR ENTIRE NIGHT. (If you can't mount your lead good enough in your shop, then there is no way you can mount it good enough at the track)
Safety Belts must be no older than 2 years old (date determined by label on belts) and be free from excessive stretching or fraying and installed properly. If belts are deemed unsafe they must be replaced prior to entering a West Coast Shootout event.
All safety equipment shall be properly worn at all times when vehicle is on the track. No Exceptions.
7) MISC. NO TRACTION CONTROL DEVICES DRIVERS NAME MUST BE LEGIBLE FROM GRANDSTANDS ON BOTH SIDES OF CAR AND ROOF. Certain sponsor decals will be required for max payout, points fund,
contingencies and end of year giveaways.
Large contrasting colored Numbers on roof and sides.
Cockpit adjustable components are NOT permitted, except brake bias adjusters. Adjusters for adjustable shocks, hydraulic or pneumatic weight jacks, trackers, ignition boxes or similar are not permitted.
Adjustable components of any kind are NOT permitted inside the cockpit of the car or within reach of the seated driver.
8) TECH All cars may be required to pass thru tech before hot lapping. Present your helmet to the tech official for inspection.
No car will qualify without Tech Inspector approval. All cars must be available for inspection prior to the advertised time of the driver’s meeting.
All race cars are subject to inspection by officials at any time.
9) RACE PROCEDURES
Pill draw to establish qualifying order.
All hot laps, qualifying, and heat races will be done in groups. Group 1 will qualify and heat race together. Group 2, group 3, etc. Qualifying groups will be in same heat race. Heat races will be run straight up. You only need to be fastest in your group to start in the front of your heat race.
Qualifying: To preserve race tracks and time the following rule will apply to qualifying.
35 cars and under= 2 laps
36+ cars= 1 lap
Trophy dash will consist of top 2 finishers in each heat race. Main event will be lined up based on Trophy dash finish.

In the event that qualifying cannot take place, heat races will be scored by point system. Qualifying during hot laps may take place if Transponders are available. Start |
