Don Shaw Wins Copper on Dirt WCS Opener

Don Shaw of Ham Lake, MN led wire to wire in the West Coast Late Models season opening Copper on Dirt 25 at Canyon Speedway Park located in Peoria, Arizona. Drivers from five states and two Canadian provinces attended the event. The race ran caution free with Garrett Alberson of New Mexico and Pat Doar of Wisconsin chasing Shaw. Lance Matthees of Minnesota and defending WCS champ Steve Drake of California rounded out the top 5. Tony Toste, Arizona'a Joey Moriarty, Bud Grossenbacher, Mike Kirby and Cody Laney completed the top 10. Day two of The Copper on Dirt was rained out. The next race will be Wednesday, March 5th in Las Vegas.
