Daly Wins The Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

(LAS VEGAS, Nevada) – The C&D Bonding West Coast Late Model Shootout invaded The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a mid-week NASCAR opening weekend show with the World of Outlaws STP World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Watsonville’s two-time series’ champion Clay Daly found Victory Lane for a $3,000 pay day.  Thirty cars were on hand with seven states being represented and two Canadian provinces.

The 25-lap feature event went green-white-checkered. Daly made his way to the front from his fourth place starting position and took over the lead on lap twelve when race leader Bobby Hogge spun passing lapped traffic. Las Cruces, New Mexico’s Garrett Alberson charged his way forward from eighth. IMCA Modified feature event winner RC Whitwell completed the podium. Hard charger Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wisconsin advanced from 16th to fourth with Pismo Beach, California’s Tony Toste rounded out the top five.

Bobby Hogge, Steve Drake, Rob Sanders, Lance Matthees and Dave Smith completed the top ten.
