Bud Nationals Oct. 7th & 8th!
The West Coast Shootout Late Models are charging into Bakersfield Speedway this weekend for the Budweiser Nationals on October 7th and 8th. Each night will have a complete show with Friday night paying $2,000 to the top spot and $3,000 on Saturday. The series made their season debut at “the west’s fastest 1/3 mile high banked oval” April 30th with Salinas’ Bobby Hogge IV visiting victory lane after passing Steve Drake for the California season opener.Petaluma Speedway hosted the most recent series event with Watsonville’s Clay Daly winning the “Maselli and Sons Classic.” Daly currently holds a 19 point lead over El Segundo’s Nick Bartels who won the season opener at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona for the Copper on Dirt in February. Rounding out the top five in points is Steve Drake, Mike Kirby and Jason Papich.Chris Kearns Presents and the West Coast Shootout Late Models would like to thank Hoosier Tires, Pro Power Racing Engines, DFT Transportation, RoadRunner Fabrication, Dart Machinery, Manley, CP/Carillo, Isky Racing Cams, Five Star Grafix and Matt Mussell Designs for their support for the 2011 season. Gates will open at 4:30 PM on Friday, October 7th, with racing beginning at 5:30 PM. Tickets will be $12 for adults and $5 for kids.
